AC1: Informing Ideas:
The Client was identified and they described their needs when making this project. It started by looking at separate tutorial videos about them doing or making something, what i chose is people making different types of cakes as this showed the more creative side of the tutorial videos and other types of editing as i described in my analysis of these 2 videos their positives and their negatives along with how they looked when they were filmed such as what camera angles are there and what the duration of the videos were. This helped because it gave me an inspiration for how my video will look and how edited it would be along with the camera shots and describing what types of shots they were.
I identified each specific detail of what the video produced and also what the deadlines were for completing the project along with what the client wanted, for example Mark (the client) wanted a barbering tutorial filmed about a specific haircuts depending on what group everyone was in and we would film that and then edit it on premier pro.
All this helped me improvement because of how much i have learned about camera angles and also helped try and come up with an idea of what type of editing i would be doing for the video that would be coming up along with the other types of work i would be doing for this project.
AC2: Problem Solving
For this part of the project I produced a practice video about the haircut where myself and some others got together and filmed a short video (around 5 mins) of an actor played by myself cutting someones hair without actually cutting the hair. This video was made and produced on premier pro and then uploaded on youtube, this showed an inspiration to the videos i used to show the Camera Angles in the discussion in the AC1 where i showed the different tutorials and that helped with the production of this video as i used the footage my other classmates used to make it look like it was used exactly how the tutorial videos were, this helped me as it was a good use of inspiration for the video and even better for the video that will be my final piece.
I also created a barbering pitch where i showed off how the recording will go and the main plans for it as well, this pitch included Camera angles and the main duration of the video along with the main idea as well as the main overview of the sheet which was a main introduction to the pitch.
this all helped me because it would have helped me by putting this into the pitch because it keeps the ideas i had were in that sheet and also includes the other types of things that are included in the video such as the questions on how it would apply to the brief and how does the video look which would help with feedback.
AC3: Technical Skill
For this part of the ACs was the start of the main project as this was the final beginning of the main barbering tutorial which I have been planning for a while now as i had everything ready along with what the plan was for the editing as the Client Mark was doing his practice with the head mannequin as two people in our group were recording the footage of Mark cutting the hair as the another person was recording the background of our recording session like a behind the scenes for another video.
Then after that was completed we went back to start the editing as it took around 2 weeks to finish and fully produce on the final day of production for me. As i use Premier Pro to edit and finish the production and i used all i have learned to fully finish it and add music from BenSound but i included a theme from a show i watch and made it the song for the end credits.
This Video was well produced as i used the editing options on premier pro to make my video more better and more greatly edited, while working on the video i decided to include the College logo in the video as this presented where the tutorial was made and what the college location is which was good as it suited for a bit of a promotion for the college as normally in other tutorial videos, they include a certain logo to have a good promotion to their channel and the place they either work for or work at.
The filming was done by a Canon 1200D as this was the best option for recording and it was a good choice as this piece of equipment proved useful while in production, it worked more better while on a tripod but not really that well in hand if you have a shakey hand as it could prove badly for the video you are making and this was basically my situation of the recording where i had a bit of a shaking hand but it wasn't a big issue as there was a better set of footage made by another member of our group as it was used for the final video.
How all this helped me was because of how much i learned about the types of editing used in different videos as this assisted me into completing this, the practice video helped as well because it raised the chances of improvements on the video while it is being made once i got that sorted i started and produced a fully edited video which was added to my file and finally uploaded to youtube. What also helped me was the aid of my classmates and those in my group as they helped me with the footage and also with the graphics in the video which proved greatly for the final piece and most of the work as well. And finally what helped the most was the general feedback from the other people as they helped me have a good understanding of what i should include and what else i should maybe add in such as music and types of graphics.
AC4: Professional Practice
For this AC I created a few things for the video to make sure it was right for me and my group could film this properly and those things were somethings like a Risk Assessment which discuss the potential health and safety issues in the production and who is in the group that I was in, another thing that was done was a Storyboard as this was used for basically explaining the scenes that were going to be the video that will be possibly how long they are and included in the storyboard pictures of barbering related, another thing included was a Crew list, Location Scout and Location Release. The Crew list was simply listing who was in the group in the video and what their role is, the Location scout is basically where the production is being filmed and what permissions you have on being there and finally the Location release was basically saying to the people that we know where we are filming and gave the address of the college, but there was one more thing in the pre production and that was the resource list and that was basically giving the marker what equipment was being used in the production of the video and where we will be obtaining these equipment.
AC5: Communication
For the last of the ACs this was how the Communication worked with the team and the client. The Communication for the client was very well done and that's because of how well the information received was, we started with a basic message saying the clients needs for the video, some basic information about themselves and what they do, what they asking us to do this video for and other information too. Next came a meeting where creators of the different video ask questions to the client and they respond if they can about their question like for example somebody asked about a voice over and the client replied that it was completely optional so that meant that creators can make a non voice over video for their final project. For communication with the team it was better as we planning nearly everyday for this project to see what would be better and what role everyone was getting for the day of the production and final recording of the tutorial video, everyone stayed communicated and did their roles well too along with aiding each other in making of our videos.
